About Us
The Beginning
Our journey has a history and yet is just beginning to be told. Legendary 3D was founded by Nikolas Benedikt in 2024 with a vision to create innovative and functional products using additive manufacturing. Starting with just one 3D printer and the will to learn, we have grown our manufacturing capability with new technology available and expanded our services and product series.
It started with expanding our weekend farmer's market offerings to include 3D items we produced. We had great feedback, so we are developing more products and getting them into new places . The farmer's markets are a favorite place for us to engage with people, have some fun and get feedback on products. You'll likely find us at a market by listening for Niko playing the Ocarina flute!
Our founder, Niko, is creative and always looking deeper than the surface of things. He finds inspiration from nature, ancient history/mythology and outdoor adventuring, as well as from traveling and other cultures of the world. His purpose and vision are the driving force of the growth and development of Legendary 3D. The philosophy outlined below guides his design process and approach towards business. He came to the additive manufacturing industry looking to utilize new technology and explore the potential it has. Who wouldn't want to learn how to operate a magic box that creates wonders? Learning to model creative projects and then printing them is a rewarding journey, however sharing these endeavors is even more fulfilling.

Additive Manufacturing opens up incredible new opportunities in business that can impact sustainability and local economics. Instead of holding large inventories, we can keep inventories reduced by manufacturing on-demand. That means we'll stock a small amount of product and produce more as demand increases. We also can produce parts and products for other businesses, creating a more Canadian supply chain. Our growing fleet of FDM 3D printers are best-in-class, providing consistency and exceptional quality. We're able to work in a variety of thermoplastics and engineering grade materials, these can range from soft/elastic polymers to industrial strength hard plastics depending on what properties are needed. Some of our materials used: Nylon (PA6 & PA12), Polycarbonate (PC), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), Acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), Polylactic acid (PLA). We also work in composites that are reinforced with Carbon, Glass, or Aramid fibers.

One of our founding principles that guides our actions and choices is to continually refine and improve what we're doing. We are like this as people, and so we apply this into our company ethos. Each product that we develop has inspiration and many hours/days spent refining the quality of it. We've developed a standard that we hold ourselves to and we stand behind the quality of our products and our work. Although we don't stop there... we are continually finding better ways to improve our products, service and the impact we have on everything around us. We're becoming more efficient and sustainable as we grow.
The alchemist seeks mastery of transformation. To transform one substance into another, or to combine multiple substances/qualities and to produce something new. We approach the world in this way, to make the best of each situation we are given and to transform ourselves in the process of living each day as best as we can. The products we create will help you to transform yourself and your environment when used with a bit of mindfulness. Our alchemy is to marry aspects of the old world with innovative technology of our new world to produce a quality that we call Legendary.

We can do much more and much better by working together. Pioneering a new industry of products and services with additive manufacturing is not an easy feat. Collaborative efforts can multiply all efforts, and so we are actively seeking to build community amongst our industry.

We see the business landscape as a great forest. It is vast, complex and interconnected. Instead of consuming the resources around us to develop one large tree within the forest, we choose a path that develops the whole network of trees into a thriving forest. When we communicate and work together, far greater endeavors can be achieved and entire ecosystems can benefit.

Our purpose is to innovate Legendary products and services for our customers using additive manufacturing as a means of production. It is our goal to bring ideas to form, to explore new technological opportunities, and to serve our customers as best as we can. We aim to benefit local and regional businesses by providing them with a way to develop and produce their parts and products closer to their business, so we can all leave a better environmental footprint. Our legacy will be lasting as we pioneer a new way of doing business with next generation technology and a vision of creating the future.

​Can you imagine having parts or products for your business produced in the same city or region? We can and we are already stepping forward with this idea. Using CAD design and 3D scanning, we can replicate existing parts and components that are often bought overseas or from other countries. When we produce parts locally, we support and stabilize our regional economy and generate a more resilient network of business. When trade between nations is limited or expensive due to politics, we are less affected when our business stays closer to home.
